We do have extra birds available at times. Please *E-MAIL* us about potential waterfowl purchases/future requests:
At Fredin Acres we also raise wild waterfowl. Our goals are to propagate wild species, share our passion for waterfowl aviculture with others and help others in establishing certain species in captivity. We strive for the conservation of all waterfowl species. We are not a breeding factory of multiple different species. We only focus our energy on certain species and hope to help others showing proper enclosures and husbandry for these birds.
Alex has raised game birds and waterfowl since he first found an ad for a small incubator and quail eggs in the back of a hunting magazine when he was 10yrs old.
Alex’s great uncle, Stanley Fredin, was a pioneer in wild waterfowl aviculture in the United States before passing during his prime years at the age of 45 in 1975. He was one of the first breeders of Red Breasted Geese in the United States and went on egg collection trips and imported many birds to help bring forward wild waterfowl in United States to what it is today. We still use some of his breeding practices to be successful with species.
We are a member of the American Pheasant and Waterfowl Society, International Wild Waterfowl Association, and a director for Minnesota Game Breeder’s Club. These organizations promote conservation, aviculture and preservation of species through captive breeding.
We imported birds from Europe winter.
